The annual report includes 20 predicted trends based on billions of data points, including the keywords used in Pinterest searches.

After looking at this year’s report, I felt like I had a better pulse on global cultural trends. And I was surprised to learn that I’m actually doing something that’s #trending!

This year’s predicted travel trend is Peak Travel. And here’s what Pinterest has to say about it:

β€œCities have totally peaked. In 2025, mountain ranges will become the go-to travel destination as Gen Z and Gen X seek out treetop views and that fresh mountain air. Gear up for your next elevacation.”

There’s one U.S. trend that I think Pinterest missed: Education leaders are being tasked with updating their policies around student cell phones.

Since 2023, at least 27 states and Puerto Rico introduced legislation related to student cell phone use in schools.

Nine states have enacted measures since then, and 11 states have taken action through their state education agencies and state boards of education.

I found out about this trend because one of my school district partners asked for support.

I did an in-depth look at available research and policies around student cell phone use in schools and provided a two-page summary of my findings, plus some recommended next steps.

It also made me decide to lean into my "wingwoman" and "welcoming hug in human form" strengths.

Clients have acknowledged strengths like my calm and comforting demeanor when we partner on large events. They say I help everyone feel welcome and included, and local entrepreneurs call me their "biggest cheerleader."

So I think it's time I highlight these strengths instead of downplay them!
